Luglio è ormai iniziato e le mie pagine di Facebook e Instagram sono colme di foto di amici al mare, in costume, spiagge, gelati e aperitivi o feste al chiaro di luna. E’ strano come invece tutto questo sia ancora per me lontano, e ne approfitto così, per lasciarmi trasportare dalla curiosità gironzolando alla ricerca di un po’ di estate. E sapete cosa vi dico?! Ebbene si, anche la grigia Manchester ha qualche angolo colorato e gioioso dove potersi riposare da un po’ di shopping o fare un’allegra pausa tra amiche.
July has just started but my Facebook and Instagram pages are already full of friends on holiday at the beach ice creams cocktails and summer parties. All that seems so far from me. Anyway I try to enjoy my time in the city, wandering around and looking for some traces of summer. And you know what? Well, guys, the grey Manchester hides very colourful corners to discover and where to have a rest from some shopping with your friends.
Proprio ieri, passeggiando tranquillamente per Spinningfield, tra uomini in giacca e cravatta appena usciti dall’ufficio ed elenganti signore sedute davanti a cocktails colorati, ho scoperto questo piccolo angolino colorato, Hey Little Cupcake, quello di cui avevo bisogno per recuperare qualche zucchero.
Just yesterday, while I was strolling around Spinningfields surrounded by business men and elegant women, I spotted a very nice pink corner, Hey Little Cupcake. It was exactly what I needed.
Il rosa è il colore dominante: dai cuscini di sedie e sgabelli, al pavimento, ai menu, alla maggior parte dei quadretti appesi alle pareti, alle tovaglie dei tavolini o all’allegra panchetta all’entrata. Rosa…e bianco, un panna e fragola che ti mette di buonumore al solo osservare il locale da fuori. Hey Little Cupcake, in Hardman Street, è un tranquillo angolino di pura dolcezza.
Pink is the dominant color. Everything is pink from the cushions on the chairs to the floor, the drinks menus, the little posters on the wall or the table clothes. Pink and white, actually. Cream and strawberry we can say, something that makes you feel good. Hey Little Cupcake in Hardman Street is a quiet corner of pure sweetness.
Le pareti sono ricoperte di allegri quadretti dai toni pastello (in vendita!!!) che riprendono simpatiche frasi e disegni di sorridenti dolcetti.
Walls are covered with nice posters on pastel colours (on sale!) mantioning funny sentences and smiley cupcakes.
I cupcakes esposti nella vetrinetta al bancone hanno tutti un aspetto molto invitante. E’ quasi un peccato mangiarli. Ce n’è al cioccolato, ai mirtilli, al caffè, i must Red Velvet, Oreo e visto il momento è possibile scegliere tra le edizioni speciali del torneo di Wimbledon e della Coppa del mondo. Troppo carini. Per tutti i gusti e da leccarsi i baffi.
All the cupcakes on the expository window seem so nice and tasty! The choice is a very hard one. You can choose among chocolate, blueberries, coffee and famous Red Velvet or Oreo ones. Also, you can taste the really nice specials of the month, the Wimbledon or Worldcup cupcakes..soooo pretty!
E perchè non accompagnarli ad un buon succo di mela o ad una fresca limonata fatta in casa? Sono tanti anche i milkshakes o i tè tra cui scegliere, se si vuole andare sul sicuro. E così ho fatto io, che per la mia dolce merenda ho scelto di accompagnare un buon cupcake ai mirtilli, ad un dolce te Rooibos al Crème Caramel.
The perfect combination is a fresh apple juice or even an handmade lemonade. You can choose among a range variety of milkshakes or teas as well, always a good choice. Indeed I had a sweet blueberry cupcake and a cup of Rooibos tea flavoured with Crème Caramel. The perfect match! Trust me.
